Job Role: Barista
A barista is a skilled professional who prepares and serves coffee and other beverages to customers in a café or coffee shop setting. They are responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, making and serving drinks, and providing excellent customer service.
Preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers
Operating and maintaining equipment such as coffee machines and grinders
Keeping the café or coffee shop clean and organized
Taking orders and handling cash or credit card transactions
Providing excellent customer service and addressing any customer complaints or concerns
Staying informed about new products and promotions
Following health and safety guidelines
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working in a customer service or hospitality role
Basic math and computer skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy bags of coffee beans
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and multitask
Passion for coffee and customer service
Experience as a barista or in a similar role
Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and different types of coffee beans
Barista certification or training in coffee preparation
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
Familiarity with point of sale systems and cash handling procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently
Ability to work well in a team environment.
